Information, Application & Profile
The MAA was established in 2002 as a non-profit organization to promote excellence and
quality among the providers of indoor environmental health services in relation to mold by
setting uniform standards of practice and a common code of ethics for the advocacy,
benefit and well-being of the general public. The MAA is committed to its mission of
making the public more aware of toxic mold, the benefits and scope of a professional mold
inspection and their options as property owners, renters, employers and employees.
The problem of toxic mold is a concern to
all involved in real property transaction, structural repair transactions and, most
importantly, to the health and well-being of the public. By working together to develop
and maintain standards of excellence, MAA members benefit from professional development
and the exchange of ideas through continuing education and seminars.
Information and support are available for
members regarding their business and inspection practices and service to their clients.
Professional listings services by the MAA are another great benefit of membership. Our
promotional activities educate the public as well as the professional member, and our
statewide listings service helps consumers find facts about the industry and unites the
membership with new clients. Members from other States have access to our listings
services and benefits until their own State Chapters are founded.

Why Join the MAA?
The Mold Assessment Association was established
in 2002 as a non-profit organization to promote excellence and quality among the providers
of indoor environmental health services in relation to mold by setting uniform standards
of practice and a common code of ethics for the advocacy, benefit and well-being of the
general public. The MAA is committed to its mission of making the public more aware of
toxic mold, the benefits and scope of a professional mold inspection and their options as
property owners, renters and employees.
The problem of toxic mold is a concern to all involved in real estate
transactions, structural repair transactions and, most importantly, to the health and
well-being of the public. Many agencies and lenders are requiring that transactions have
some level of environmental assessment in order to determine if a hazard exists or may be
imminent. A mold inspection is fast becoming a necessary component of loan packaging,
ensuring that the property is clear of conditions that might result in lawsuits. When a
hazardous condition is detected, additional steps taken may include testing, and if
necessary, remediation.
By working together to develop and maintain
standards of excellence, MAA members benefit from professional development and the
exchange of ideas through continuing education and seminars. Information and support are
available for members regarding their business and inspection practices and service to
their clients. Listings services by the MAA are another great benefit of membership. Our
promotional activities educate the public as well as the professional member, and our
statewide listings service helps consumers find facts about the industry and unites the
membership with new clients.
